The gardener's dwelling
Welcome to Gartnerboligen
Experience the charm and history of this unique accommodation that is part of Fuglsang Herregaard. The gardener's cottage can be rented by 1-9 people for up to 7 days and offers a very special atmosphere with space for relaxation and socialising in scenic surroundings.
The gardener's residence is a historical gem, built in 1840, and was originally home to the head gardener and his family. He had an important role, not only in maintaining the garden, but also in providing daily fresh flowers for the manor. At the time, the lawns in front of the residence were vegetable fields and greenhouses lined the walls, providing the manor with greenery all year round.
Housing
From 1905, the home also became a refuge for the great Danish composer Carl Nielsen and his wife, sculptor Anne Marie Carl Nielsen, when they visited Fuglsang Herregaard. During their stay, Carl Nielsen often worked in rooms 31 and 32 of Gartnerboligen.
Herregaardshaven - a historical breathing space
The garden was laid out in 1760 by garden architect Mansa, known for his work on Frederiksborg Castle. Many of the original trees are still standing and can still be admired. A particular highlight is the impressive 150-year-old tuja near the Tea House. Step inside the tree and experience the magical ”cathedral”. The garden is open to the public according to the wishes of Mrs Bodil De Neergaard.
